Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down based on standard protocol and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to Washington after suffering a mechanical problem.
