Barça to Host Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
